I recently purchased a used BMW XM and noticed that the air coming out of the vents smells musty. I suspect it's time to change the cabin air filter, but I've never done it before. How can I do this on my own?
ReplyHi Samantha! Changing the cabin air filter on your BMW XM is a fairly simple process. First, locate the filter housing under the dashboard on the passenger side. Open the cover and remove the old filter. Be sure to check the filter's orientation before removing it so you can fit the new one in the same way. Then, insert the new filter, making sure it is securely in place. Close the cover and you're all set! If you need more detailed instructions, consult your vehicle's manual or ask a mechanic to show you.
