How do I troubleshoot a clutch problem in my BMW?

I've noticed my clutch is starting to feel spongy and is slipping a little when accelerating. What steps should I take to diagnose and fix this issue?

First, try bleeding the clutch to see if that improves the feel. If not, you may need to replace the clutch master cylinder.

Check your clutch fluid level and see if it needs to be topped off. Low fluid can cause a spongy feeling in the clutch.

M

It's possible that your clutch disc is wearing out. If that's the case, you'll need to have it replaced.
