I find the default lighting in my BMW X7 to be too bright. Is there a way for me to customize the lighting settings?

Yes, you can change the default lighting settings in your BMW X7. To do so, go to the Settings menu, then select Vehicle, and finally Lighting. From there, you can adjust the brightness settings to your liking.
