How can I enable Apple CarPlay in my BMW 4 Series?

I recently purchased a BMW 4 Series and I was disappointed to find out that it doesn't come standard with Apple CarPlay. Is there a way to enable it on my car?

Yes, it is possible to activate Apple CarPlay in your BMW 4 Series.
