How do I calibrate the gesture control system in my BMW X8?

I just bought a BMW X8 and I'm having trouble getting the gesture control system to work correctly. Can you provide any tips or instructions on how to properly calibrate it?

To properly calibrate the gesture control system in your BMW X8, start by sitting in the driver's seat with the ignition on. Then, make sure your hands are clean and free of any obstructions. Next, perform a double click motion with your index finger towards the headrest twice. This should calibrate the system and allow it to accurately detect your hand movements.

I had the same issue when I first got my BMW X8. One thing that helped was adjusting the sensitivity level of the system. You can do this in the iDrive menu by going to Settings > Driving Assistance > Gesture Control. From there, you can adjust the sensitivity to your preference.

Another tip is to make sure you're not wearing any accessories on your hands that may interfere with the gesture control system. This includes gloves, bracelets, or rings. Also, try to make fluid and deliberate hand motions to ensure the system can accurately recognize them.
