Hi Samantha, congratulations on your new BMW M3! Changing the transmission fluid is an important maintenance task that should be done every 50,000-60,000 miles or every 5 years, whichever comes first. You will need some basic tools such as a drain pan, funnel, and socket wrench. First, locate the transmission fluid pan and drain plug. Make sure to use the correct size socket wrench to remove the drain plug. Once the fluid has drained, replace the drain plug and refill the transmission with the recommended fluid. Make sure to also check the transmission filter and replace it if needed. I recommend following the manufacturer's instructions for the exact process for your specific model.
