First, locate the engine oil dipstick on your BMW 6 Series. It is usually found near the front of the engine. Then, make sure the car is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool. Next, remove the dipstick and wipe it clean with a cloth. Reinsert the dipstick and then remove it again to check the oil level. The dipstick will have two markings - one for minimum and one for maximum. If the oil level is between these two markings, then it is at an appropriate level. If not, you will need to add more oil. Be sure to use the recommended oil for your BMW 6 Series.

Another way to check the engine oil level on a BMW 6 Series is through the iDrive system. Simply go to the main menu and select the vehicle status option. Then, select vehicle information and you should be able to see the oil level. Keep in mind that you may need to drive for a few minutes before the oil level shows up. This method is more accurate than using the dipstick. Still, it is always a good idea to check the oil level manually using the dipstick every once in a while.

In addition to checking the oil level, it is important to have your car's oil changed regularly. This will ensure your BMW 6 Series is running at its optimal performance. If you are unsure about how often to get an oil change, refer to your owner's manual or ask a trained mechanic.
