I recently purchased a BMW 2 Series and I want to make sure I am properly maintaining it. How can I check the oil level and make sure it is at the correct level?
ReplyTo check the oil level in your BMW 2 Series, start by making sure your car is on a level surface and the engine is cold. Open the hood and locate the oil dipstick. Pull it out and wipe it clean with a cloth, then reinsert it and pull it out again. The oil level should be between the minimum and maximum markers on the dipstick. If it is below the minimum, you will need to add more oil. I recommend using the recommended BMW oil.
Another way to check your oil level is through the onboard computer in your BMW 2 Series. Start your car and navigate to the service menu, then select 'Oil Level'. The computer will display the current oil level and let you know if it needs to be topped up.
