How do I disable the automatic start-stop function on my BMW 8 Series?

I find the automatic start-stop function on my BMW 8 Series to be annoying and would like to disable it. How can I do this without affecting the overall performance of my car?

To disable the start-stop function, locate the button that looks like an 'A' with an arrow around it. Press and hold this button for a few seconds until the start-stop light turns off. This will permanently disable the function.
