I recently purchased a pre-owned BMW 3 Series and the oil life indicator is showing a low percentage. How can I reset it to start tracking from 100%?
ReplyTo reset the oil life indicator on your BMW 3 Series, you will need to turn the ignition on and press and hold the odometer button until a triangle appears above the mileage. Then release the button and press and hold it again until a clock icon appears. Release the button once more and use the toggle switch to select 'reset' and then press and hold the button again.
Alternatively, you can also reset the oil life indicator by inserting the key fob into the slot and pressing the start/stop button twice without pressing the brake pedal. This will turn on the electrics without starting the engine. Press and hold the odometer button until the oil life indicator changes to 100%. Then release and press and hold the button once more until 'reset' appears and use the toggle switch to select it.
If you are still having trouble resetting the oil life indicator, it is recommended to consult your BMW dealership or a certified mechanic to ensure it is done correctly and to prevent any potential issues with your vehicle.
