How do I reset the computer in my BMW XM?

I recently experienced some glitches in my BMW XM computer system and I am not sure how to reset it. Can you please provide some guidance on how to do this?

To reset the computer in your BMW XM, first turn off your car and wait for about 30 seconds. Then, turn the key to the accessory position. Next, press and hold the trip reset button until the service indicator lights up. Finally, turn off the key and start your car again. This should reset the computer.
