How do I reset the navigation system in my BMW XM?

I recently replaced the battery in my BMW XM and now the navigation system is not working properly. How can I reset it?

First, try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. This can sometimes reset the navigation system.

If that doesn't work, try removing the fuse for the navigation system and then putting it back in. This can also reset the system.
