I recently got my oil changed but the oil life indicator is still showing the old mileage. How do I reset it to reflect the current mileage?
ReplyTo reset the oil life indicator, follow these steps: 1. Turn on the ignition and make sure the car is in park. 2. Press and hold the odometer button until the test or reset is displayed. 3. Release the button and press it again until you see 'Oil Service' or 'Inspection' with 'Reset' next to it. 4. Press and hold the button again until 'Reset' begins to flash. 5. Let go of the button and then press it again. 6. The indicator should now show 'Reset' and the new mileage. 7. Release the button and turn off the ignition. Your oil life indicator should now be reset and accurate for your next oil change.
Another way to reset the oil life indicator is to use the iDrive system. 1. Turn on the ignition and go to the 'Vehicle Status' screen. 2. Select 'Service Requirements'. 3. Select 'Reset' and confirm by selecting 'Yes'. 4. The indicator should now show 'Reset' and the new mileage. 5. Turn off the ignition.
