I recently changed my own oil on my BMW 1 Series, but the oil light is still on. Is there a specific way to reset the light so it turns off? I don’t want to go to the dealership just to have them do this simple task.
ReplyFirst, start your car and make sure the display shows your mileage. Then press and hold the odometer reset button for about 10 seconds until the display changes. Release the button, and then press and hold it again for another 5 seconds until 'Reset?' appears. Release and press the button one more time to confirm the reset. Your oil light should now be turned off. If this doesn’t work, you may need to consult your BMW manual for specific instructions. Happy driving!
