I recently got a notification on my dashboard saying that it's time for an oil service on my BMW 3 Series. How do I reset this light after I have done the oil change? I am not very familiar with car maintenance so any help would be appreciated.
ReplyHi John, resetting the oil service light in your BMW 3 Series is actually quite simple. Start by turning the ignition on (without starting the car) and pressing the odometer button until you see the service interval screen. Then, press and hold the odometer button for about 5 seconds until the service reset screen appears. Lastly, press and hold the BC button on the end of the turn signal lever until the Reset symbol flashes. This should reset your oil service light. Hope this helps!
Hey John, another way to reset the oil service light is by using the iDrive display panel. Simply navigate to the 'Vehicle Info' menu and select 'Reset Oil Service'. Then, press and hold the BC button on the end of the turn signal lever until the Reset symbol flashes. Remember to only reset the light after you have completed the oil change. Hope this helps!
