How do I reset the oil service light on my BMW X5?

I recently changed my own oil on my BMW X5 and now the oil service light won't turn off. How do I reset it without going to the dealership?

In order to reset the oil service light on your BMW X5, you will need to go through a specific sequence of steps. First, turn your key to the ON position, but do not start the engine.
