To reset the oil service light on your BMW XM, insert the key into the ignition and press and hold the trip odometer reset button. Turn the key to the first position, but do not start the engine. Continue holding the button until the Oil Service or Inspection light appears.

Another way to reset the oil service light is to use the iDrive system. Go to Menu > Vehicle Information > Vehicle Status > Service Required and select Reset. This will reset the oil service light on your BMW XM.
