How do I reset the service indicator on my BMW 5 Series?

I recently purchased a used BMW 5 Series and I'm not sure how to reset the service indicator. Can anyone provide some guidance on how to do this?

It's actually quite simple, Michael. First, turn on the ignition, but don't start the engine. Then, press and hold the odometer reset button until the service indicator light starts flashing. Release the button and then immediately press and hold it again for another 5 seconds until the next service interval is displayed. Finally, release the button and turn off the ignition. Your service indicator should now be reset.

Hi Michael, congrats on your new BMW! The best way to reset the service indicator is to use the iDrive system. Go to the 'Vehicle Status' menu, then select 'Service Required'. From there, you can reset the service indicator manually or set it to automatically reset after each service interval. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Hey Michael, I've been a BMW owner for years and have found that the easiest way to reset the service indicator is to take it to a certified BMW technician. They have the proper tools and knowledge to quickly reset it for you. It may cost a little extra, but it's worth it for the peace of mind. Just make sure to keep up with regular maintenance to avoid having to reset it too often.
