How do I reset the service interval indicator in my BMW X5?

I just purchased a used BMW X5 and the service interval indicator is showing that it needs to be reset. Can you provide any guidance on how to reset the indicator?

To reset the service interval indicator in your BMW X5, follow these steps:
1. Turn the ignition on (do not start the engine)
2. Use the trip odometer button to select the service item you would like to reset (e.g. oil service, brake fluid, etc.)
3. Press and hold the trip odometer button for approximately 3 seconds until the service indicator flashes
4. Release the button, and then press and hold it again for another 3 seconds until a series of symbols appear on the display
5. Release the button and then press it repeatedly until the desired service item appears
6. Press and hold the button again for approximately 3 seconds until the display confirms the reset
7. Release the button and you're all done!
