I just got my oil changed and the service light is still on. How can I reset the light myself without having to go to the dealership?
ReplyTo reset the service light on your BMW X8, turn the ignition to the 'ON' position without starting the engine. Press and hold the trip reset button on the left side of the steering wheel until the triangle with the exclamation point appears. Release the button and then press and hold it again until the service menu appears. Scroll through the menu using the trip reset button until you reach the 'Reset' option. Press and hold the button again to confirm the reset. Your service light should now be reset.
You can also reset the service light on your BMW X8 by using the 'iDrive' system. Go to the 'Vehicle Status' screen and then scroll to 'Service Required'. Press and hold the knob until the menu appears and then select 'Confirm Reset'. Your service light should now be reset.
