How do I reset the tire pressure monitor system in a BMW 8 Series?

I recently purchased a used BMW 8 Series and noticed that the tire pressure monitor system light is on. I checked the tire pressure in all four tires and they seem to be at the correct levels. Is there a way to reset the system so the light turns off?

Hi Jessica, it is actually quite easy to reset the tire pressure monitor system in a BMW 8 Series. First, make sure all four tires are properly inflated and then turn on the ignition without starting the engine. Scroll through the options on your dashboard until you find the tire pressure monitor menu. From there, select 'reset' and the system should reset itself. Hope this helps!

Hey Jessica, I had a similar issue with my 8 Series. The first step is to determine if there is actually a problem with the tire pressure or if it is just a malfunctioning sensor. You can use a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure in each tire and compare it to the recommended levels in your car's manual. If the pressure is correct, then try resetting the system using the steps mentioned in the previous answer. If the light persists, it may be a faulty sensor and you should take it to a mechanic to have it checked out.
