How does the Active Cruise Control work in the BMW 6 Series?

I'm interested in knowing more about the Active Cruise Control feature in the BMW 6 Series. How does it function and what are its limitations? Does it work well in heavy traffic or only on open roads?

The Active Cruise Control feature in the BMW 6 Series uses radar sensors to maintain a set distance from the vehicle in front of you. It can operate at speeds between 30mph and 140mph, and can even bring your vehicle to a complete stop if needed. While it works well in heavy traffic, it's important to remain attentive and ready to take control at all times.

Having tried the Active Cruise Control in the BMW 6 Series myself, I can tell you that it's a helpful tool for long road trips. Just remember to set your desired speed and distance from the car in front of you, and the system will do the rest. It takes some getting used to, but once you do, it's a convenient feature to have.
