The BMW i3 utilizes a technology called 'one-pedal driving' which essentially means that the car can be driven using only the accelerator pedal. When you lift off the accelerator, the regenerative braking system kicks in and converts the kinetic energy of the car back into electrical energy, which is then stored in the battery. This not only helps to extend the range of the car, but also reduces wear and tear on the traditional braking system.
