How efficient is the BMW i5's regenerative braking system?

I have heard that electric cars often have strong regenerative braking systems, but I am curious about the specifics for the BMW i5. How much energy can be recovered through the regenerative braking? Is it adjustable? Can it be turned off?

The BMW i5's regenerative braking system is extremely efficient, allowing for up to 50% of the energy from braking to be recovered and stored in the battery. It can also be adjusted to different levels of regenerative braking, depending on your preferences and driving conditions. However, it cannot be turned off completely, as it is integral to the car's design and performance.

I'm not sure why you would want to turn off the regenerative braking in the BMW i5. It's one of the key features that make electric cars so efficient and eco-friendly. The system can also be adjusted via the driving mode selector, so you have control over how much energy is being recovered through braking.
