How often should I change the brake pads on my BMW X6?

I currently have 30,000 miles on my BMW X6 and I'm wondering if it's time to change the brake pads. What is the standard interval for changing brake pads on this model?

It's generally recommended to change the brake pads on your BMW X6 every 30,000 - 50,000 miles depending on your driving habits and road conditions. If you notice any squeaking or grinding noises while braking, it's important to get them checked and replaced sooner. It's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your brakes.

My mechanic suggests checking the brake pads every 20,000 miles and replacing them when they wear down to a thickness of 3mm or less. This may seem like an unnecessary expense, but it's crucial for maintaining the safety and performance of your vehicle.

From my personal experience with my BMW X6, I have found that changing the brake pads every 40,000 miles works well. Just make sure to have them inspected regularly and listen for any unusual noises while braking.
