How often should I change the spark plugs in my BMW M9?

I recently purchased a BMW M9 and I'm wondering how often I should change the spark plugs. I don't want to risk any damage to the engine, but also don't want to unnecessarily spend money if it's not necessary. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
