How often should I change the transmission fluid in my BMW M6?

I recently bought a used BMW M6 and was wondering how often I should change the transmission fluid. I want to maintain the car's performance but also don't want to overspend on unnecessary maintenance.

It is recommended to change the transmission fluid every 50,000 miles or every 5 years, whichever comes first.
