How to adjust the automatic door lock function in a BMW 5 Series?

I recently purchased a BMW 5 Series and I noticed that the door automatically locks when I start driving. Is there any way to adjust this function?

To adjust the automatic door lock function in your BMW 5 Series, go to the iDrive main menu and select 'Settings'. From there, go to 'Vehicle settings' and then 'Central locking'. Here, you can choose when the doors should lock and unlock, including when the vehicle is in motion.

If you prefer not to mess with the settings, you can manually lock the doors as you exit the vehicle. Simply press the lock button on the door handle and the car will remain locked until you unlock it.

I personally recommend keeping the automatic door lock function on for safety reasons. But if you find it annoying, you can always disable it by going to the settings as mentioned before.
