I recently purchased a used BMW F800GS and I want to change the oil myself. However, I have never changed the oil in a motorcycle before. Can someone guide me through the process and provide some tips to make it easier?
ReplyHi Markus, changing the oil in your BMW F800GS is not as difficult as it seems. First, make sure your bike is on level ground and the engine is warm. Next, locate the oil drain plug on the underside of the engine. Use a socket wrench to remove the plug and let the oil drain into a pan. Once the oil has drained completely, replace the drain plug and move on to the oil filter. Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old filter and replace it with a new one. Finally, add new oil to the recommended level and you're all set!
Hey Markus, I have been changing my own oil in my BMW F800GS for years now. One important tip is to always use high-quality oil specifically designed for motorcycles. Also, make sure to properly dispose of the used oil and filter. And don't forget to check your oil level periodically, especially if you ride frequently. This will extend the life of your engine and keep your bike running smoothly.
