I recently purchased a BMW 2 Series and I'm not sure how to properly check the oil level. Can someone provide me with steps on how to do it correctly?
ReplyFirst, park your car on a level surface and make sure the engine is cool. Then, locate the oil dipstick, which is usually yellow or orange in color. Pull it out and wipe off any oil with a cloth. Insert the dipstick back in and pull it out again. The oil level should be between the 'min' and 'max' marks. If it's below the 'min' mark, you'll need to add more oil.
In addition to checking the oil level, it's important to also check the oil color and consistency. If it appears very dark or dirty, it may be time for an oil change. It's also a good idea to check for any metal particles or unusual odor, which could indicate a larger issue.
