I have a BMW 1 Series that has been experiencing a rough idle. It happens intermittently and I'm not sure what's causing it. Can someone help me diagnose and fix this issue?
ReplyFirst, check your spark plugs and ignition coils as these are common culprits for a rough idle in BMWs. If those are in good condition, it's possible that the vacuum lines or mass airflow sensor could be causing the issue. I would recommend getting a diagnostic scan done to pinpoint the exact problem.
It could also be a problem with the fuel injectors. Try using a fuel injector cleaner to see if that helps improve the idle. If not, it's best to take it to a mechanic for further inspection.
In my experience, a dirty throttle body can also cause a rough idle in BMW 1 Series. Try cleaning it with throttle body cleaner and see if that makes a difference.
