How to disable the active lane keeping system in a BMW 7 Series?

I find the active lane keeping system in my BMW 7 Series to be quite annoying. How can I disable it permanently?

To disable the active lane keeping system, go to the iDrive menu and select 'Driving Assistance'. Then, choose 'Steering and Lane Control' and turn off the 'Active Lane Keeping' feature.
