How to properly use the BMW X2's launch control?

I recently purchased a BMW X2 and I've heard about launch control feature but I'm not sure how to use it. Can someone explain the steps to properly use launch control on my BMW X2?

To use launch control on your BMW X2, first make sure your vehicle is in sports mode. Then, press and hold the brake and accelerator pedals together, until the revs stabilize at around 3,500 RPM. Release the brake pedal and the car will launch forward with maximum acceleration.
