How to reset maintenance light on BMW X5?

I recently bought a used BMW X5 and the maintenance light keeps appearing on my dashboard. How can I reset it without going to a dealership?

You can reset the maintenance light by following these steps: 1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine. 2. Press and hold the trip odometer button until the odometer resets to zero. 3. Release the button and press it again until 'Reset?' appears. 4. Release and press again to confirm. This should reset the light and save you a trip to the dealership. Hope this helps!

I hate when the maintenance light comes on too! Here's a pro tip: Instead of pressing and holding the trip odometer button, try just pressing and releasing it three times in a row. This should do the trick as well. Cheers!

You can also try disconnecting and reconnecting your car battery. This will reset the light, but keep in mind that it will also reset your clock and radio settings. In any case, be sure to always keep track of when your next maintenance is due. Cheers!
