How to reset the automatic parking feature on BMW XM?

I accidentally activated the automatic parking feature on my BMW XM and now I can't seem to turn it off. How can I reset it?

To reset the automatic parking feature on your BMW XM, try pressing and holding the parking assist button for 10 seconds. This should reset the system and allow you to turn it off.
