I've recently changed the oil in my BMW X4 but the oil light is still on. How can I reset it to turn it off?
ReplyFirst, make sure the car is fully turned off and the key is not in the ignition. Then, press and hold the odometer reset button until you see the service menu appear. Select the 'reset oil service' option and confirm. This should reset the oil light and turn it off.
If the above method doesn't work, try disconnecting the negative terminal of your car's battery for a few minutes. This will reset the car's computer and should reset the oil light as well.
If neither of these methods work, it may be necessary to take your BMW X4 to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis and reset of the oil light.
