How to reset the oil service light on my BMW XM?

I recently bought a new BMW XM and the oil service light came on. I'm not sure how to reset it and there is no clear guidance in the manual. Can someone please provide step-by-step instructions on how to reset the oil service light?

The first step is to turn on the ignition without starting the engine.

Use the button on the end of the turn signal stalk to navigate to the service menu.

Select 'Reset' in the service menu and confirm the reset.
