Recently my BMW 3 Series has been having issues starting, the engine just won't turn over. I've tried jump starting it and checking the battery but nothing seems to work. Is there anything else I should be checking for or do I need to take it to a mechanic?
ReplyFirstly, make sure that all the connections to the battery and starter are secure and clean. A build up of dirt and corrosion can prevent a good connection and cause starting issues. If those are fine, the next step would be to check the ignition switch and starter relay. These components are responsible for sending the signal to the starter to engage the engine. If they are faulty, replacing them should solve the issue. However, if they are functioning properly, it may be an issue with the starter itself. In that case, it's best to take your BMW to a mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.
