First, check the oil level in your engine. Low oil can cause unusual noises. If the oil level is fine, the next step is to check the engine belts for any wear or damage. A loose or worn belt can also produce strange noises.

If the belts are in good condition, the next thing to check is the timing chain. A stretched or faulty timing chain can cause rattling or ticking noises. It is important to address this issue as soon as possible to avoid further damage to your engine.

Sometimes, the source of the noise can be as simple as a loose or damaged heat shield. This can cause rattling or clunking noises, especially when driving over rough roads. Check the heat shield and tighten or replace it if necessary.
