I have a 2011 BMW 328i and recently the engine started overheating. The temperature gauge goes to the red zone within a few minutes of driving. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?
ReplyFirst, check the coolant level in your car. If it's low, top it up and see if the problem persists. If the coolant is at the correct level, the next thing to check is the thermostat. A faulty thermostat can cause the engine to overheat. It is located near the top of the engine and can be replaced easily. If the thermostat is functioning properly, then the issue could be with the water pump. A failing water pump can also cause overheating in your engine. It's best to have a mechanic take a look at it and replace it if necessary.
