How to troubleshoot the DSC system in a BMW 1 Series?

The DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system in my BMW 1 Series seems to be malfunctioning. The DSC light keeps coming on and the car feels like it's losing traction. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Firstly, make sure that your tires are properly inflated and have enough tread. Low tire pressure or worn tires can affect the effectiveness of the DSC system.

If your tires are in good condition, then the issue could be with the wheel speed sensors. These sensors are responsible for detecting wheel rotation and can cause the DSC light to come on if they are dirty or faulty. Clean the sensors and if the issue persists, they may need to be replaced.

Another common cause of DSC system malfunctions is a faulty wheel speed sensor harness. These harnesses can become damaged or loose, causing incorrect readings and triggering the DSC light. Have a mechanic check the harnesses and replace if necessary.
