Is it necessary to replace the timing chain in the BMW X5?

I have a BMW X5 with 120,000 miles on it. Should I replace the timing chain or is it built to last for the lifetime of the car?

The BMW X5 has a history of timing chain issues, so it is recommended to replace it at 100,000 miles to prevent any future problems.
