What is the best oil for a BMW M9 engine?

I just purchased a used BMW M9 and I want to make sure I am using the right oil for my engine. What type of oil would you recommend and how often should I change it?

Based on the owner's manual, BMW recommends using 5W-30 oil for the M9 engine. It is also important to use BMW approved oil to ensure optimal performance.
