What is the difference between the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe and the 4-door Sedan?

I am interested in buying a BMW 4 Series and can't decide between the Gran Coupe and the 4-door Sedan. Can someone explain the technical differences and which one would be a better choice for daily use?
