What is the difference between the BMW 6 Series and the M6?

I am looking to buy a BMW 6 Series but I have heard that the M6 is a better option. Can someone explain the differences between these two models?

The BMW 6 Series and the M6 actually have quite a few differences. The M6 is the high-performance version of the 6 Series, with a more powerful engine, stiffer suspension, and sportier features overall.
