What is the recommended oil for BMW M1 vehicles?

I recently got a BMW M1 and want to make sure I use the proper oil for optimal performance. Can anyone recommend the best oil type for this vehicle?

The recommended oil for BMW M1 vehicles is a fully synthetic oil with a viscosity grade of 0W-40 or 5W-40.

I personally use Mobil 1 ESP X1 0W-40 in my BMW M1 and have had great results with it. It meets all the specifications required by BMW.
