What type of engine oil should I use for my BMW Z4?

I recently purchased a 2020 BMW Z4 and I'm not sure what type of engine oil I should be using. The manual just says to use approved BMW Longlife engine oil, but what does that mean? Can I use any brand of Longlife engine oil or does it have to be specifically for BMW?
