What type of oil should I use for my BMW Z4?

I am planning to do an oil change for my BMW Z4 and I am wondering what type of oil would be the best option. My car currently has 50,000 miles on it and I want to make sure I am using the right type of oil to keep the engine running smoothly and efficiently.

The BMW Z4 owner's manual recommends using a fully synthetic oil with a viscosity of 0W-40. This will ensure optimal performance and protection for your engine.

I have been using Castrol EDGE 0W-40 in my BMW Z4 for years and have had no issues. It meets all the recommended specifications by BMW and provides excellent engine protection.

As a mechanic who has worked on numerous BMWs, I highly recommend using a fully synthetic oil with a high viscosity, such as 5W-50. This will provide the best protection for your engine, especially if you drive your Z4 hard.
