Why are the brakes on my BMW X7 squealing?

I've noticed that whenever I press the brakes, there is a high-pitched squealing noise coming from them. Is this normal? What could be causing it? How can I fix it?

Hi Sarah, brake squealing on your BMW X7 is definitely not normal and can be quite annoying. It could be caused by a few things such as worn out brake pads, dirty brake rotors, or even a loose caliper. The best thing to do is take your car to a certified mechanic to have it checked out. They will be able to diagnose the issue and give you a proper solution.

Hi Sarah, I've had the same issue with my BMW X7 and it turned out to be dirty brake rotors. I would suggest cleaning the rotors with a brake cleaner spray and see it that helps. If not, then it's best to take it to a mechanic.

Hi Sarah, brake squealing can also be caused by low quality brake pads. If you recently had your brake pads replaced, they may not be of good quality. Consider switching to a higher quality brand for a smoother and quieter braking experience.
