Why does my BMW 1 Series display a 'high engine temperature' warning?

Recently, my BMW 1 Series has been displaying a 'high engine temperature' warning. I've checked the coolant levels and they seem to be fine. What could be causing this issue and how can I resolve it?

It is possible that there is an issue with your cooling system, such as a faulty radiator or water pump. It is important to get this checked by a mechanic as soon as possible to avoid potential engine damage.

Another possible cause could be a malfunctioning thermostat. This can prevent the engine from cooling down properly and lead to overheating. Get this checked and replaced if necessary.

D

Low coolant levels can also cause the engine to overheat. Make sure to top up your coolant regularly and check for any leaks that may be causing the levels to drop.
